BB 9320 PAYG, O2 has locked 9 speed dial keys to it's own services.

My wife bought this phone for its keypad and speed dial keys to assign for family and friends.

The O2 sim has locked 9 keys for its own use as sevice numbers, I own a BB and have been using it for 3 years so do know a bit about them, her locked keys cannot be deleted nor moved.

On selecting an O2 speed key there is no option for 'edit' as there is for the user entered speed keys, a reset with sim removed gets rid of them, after inserting the sim again and a re-boot the locked O2 speed keys re-appear.

Deleting them from the 'contacts' has no effect, nor does deleting 'sim contacts'.

Been to O2 shop, O2 customer services, worn out 3 O2 guru techies, still no solution.

On other phones without a qwerty the O2 numbers just go into the contacts book and can be deleted, on the BB's as it has a full key pad they also get dumped on the speed dials there.

My Grandaughter tried it with various phones and with a BB the same keys were always taken over by O2, apparently this is not done by Vodaphone though a little research will not go amiss.

Ours is not to reason why, just keep upgrading

'till we die.
