Hello,
This maybe a bit of a challenge but I'm hoping someone will be able to help?
I have recently bought a device that should activate an alarm (text message) to my phone if it senses an intruder. The device is from China and states that it requires a 2G sim to be inserted into the device, having asked High St phone shops before purchase I was informed that any new sim would work on a older 2G network phone anyway so not to worry.
I have now received the device in the post and have inserted a PAYG sim (already checked to be working on a old phone I had lying around) anyway......it does'nt bloody work in the device. I have researched the web to no avail other than some suggestions that the older sims worked slightly diffrently, and I can't buy an old sim for love nor money.
Please help

Have you checked with O2 that the device is compatible with an o2 pay/go sim? Call 4445 and check it out. Might be that the device isn't intended to be used on the o2 network.

There are some old type Orange 2G sim cards on Ebay between £5 and £10 each.

Pablo, I've not done this yet as I was hoping to get a quick solution on here.
Perksie, Yeah I've just seen those. How would I go about activating one though? I sure the numbers and sim would not be recognised now all this time later?

That I don't know, but they should be returnable if they don't work.

Do you know what bands the 2G for the device operates on?
900MHz for o2/ voda 1800Mhz for Orange/ t-mo generally.
US are 850/1900
