Maybe the OP could clarify whether they want to just stop using BBM or to stop all BIS services - ie email and web as well, thereby saving his £5.
For the former just uninstall BBM, otherwise remove the Bolt on as per post #2.

If the bolt on is there surely it would still be charged for irrespective of the OP choosing whether or not to use it.
