Not getting my hopes too high but I've been told I should be going on a little trip tomorrow....

Have they found a bed at Salford @jonsie? (Or have you persuaded one of the staff to take you to the nearest pub?) Hug

Barring any last minute emergencies I should be off to Salford sometime tomorrow for surgery Thursday.

However, at the moment I've been pushed into a side ward because I have an infection in the leg (quelle surprise!) and on antibiotic drips. So I will keep everyone updated. ...

ps. ....had beer on Fathers Day Cheers

It's the waiting that is so frustrating. Heard nothing official as yet....

Just call the first person who passes you and ask them to find out 'what time you will be transferred to Salford'..

Passers by are few and far between. ..They forgot to bring me breakfast and the morning cuppa and my medication. However they did remember to change the iv drip. The joys of being in a side ward. On the plus side I managed a decent sleep and I've just buzzed for breakfast....cold soggy toast and no rice crispier but managed a tepid tea.Rolleys

My god I'm turning into one of the old moaning gits I was in with before LOL

@jonsieHave you got a buzzer /bell in that side ward? If so mate, you have to learn to use it. As a retired nurse I can tell you side wards are easily forgotten. Obviously you don't want to be a 'nuisance' but ringing for the basics and answers to your important questions isn't a reason for criticism...In fact most nurses appreciate a reminder...
