It's that time of year again....Some love it and others hate it.... Dance

However, BBC have announced the first 'celebrity' to join the line up for Strictly Come Dancing 2017.

It's Mollie King from the girl band The Saturdays (Frankie Bridge from the same group appeared in 2014)

Mollie King....

I really wanted Gemma to do well...but she didn't. Hope to see some improvement next week.

In fact until Joe and Katya came on and did the jive I thought the ballroom dancers would be high scoring and those doing Latin would 'fail'. ..

Then Debbie rocks up with her Paso....

Aston did very well but wasnt my personal favourite as I don't like the foxtrot much....

Ruth surprised me. I thought she would be better than that.

As for Craigs scoring? Ridiculous. Ranged between 2-8.

I thought Shirley Ballas was great. Didn't actually miss Len at all...

I actually thought Craig's marks were about right even quite generous in some cases for the poorer ones. Liking the (technical) interaction between Shirley & Darcy and same here: Len who? Kind of felt the judging remarks were actually very constructive overall though Bruno still has the subtle insults that most don't quite catch.

@Cleoriff I was not the least bit surprised at Ruth. I didn't expect much and that's what I got - not much. But it is week 1 and she could improve - maybe 😕

However definitely agree with you and @sheepdog didn't miss Len. I like Shirley Ballas; she's fair and constructive in her comments and, like Darcy, she tries to find something kind to say.

And I also agree with @sheepdog re Craig's scoring. And yes, Bruno's subtle insults are lost on the majority - but clearly not us 😉

A bit early but I am reliably informed these are the dances for week 2..

*Alexandra and Gorka will Paso Doble to ‘Ven a Bailar by Jennifer Lopez

*Charlotte and Brendan perform the Cha Cha to Sugar by Maroon 5

*Chizzy and Pasha dance the Foxtrot to I’m A Woman from ‘Smokey Joe’s Café’

*Debbie and Giovanni will Viennese Waltz to She’s Always A Woman by Billy Joel

*Gemma and Aljaz Waltz to Un Giorno Per Noi (A Time For Us) by Josh Groban

*Mollie and AJ dance a Tango to Addicted To Love by Tina Turner

*Ruth and Anton perform a Charleston to The Charleston by Bob Wilson and his Varsity Rhythm Boys

*Susan and Kevin also perform a Charleston to If You Knew Susie by Enoch Light and The Charleston City All-Stars

*Aston and Janette will Salsa to Despacito by Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee ft. Justin Bieber

*Brian and Amy will Cha Cha to Shake Your Groove Thing by Peaches and Her

*Davood and Nadiya perform the Quickstep to Last Nite by The Strokes

*Joe and Katya will Tango to Castle On The Hill by Ed Sheeran

*Jonnie and Oti perform the Jive to Johnny B. Goode by Chuck Berry

*The Reverend Richard and Dianne perform the American Smooth to Love Really Hurts Without You by Billy  Ocean

*Simon and Karen will Waltz to You’ll Never Walk Alone by Rodgers and Hammerstein

Mmmmmm...very interesting with varying degrees of difficulty....

Really looking forward to Jonny and Oti's jive to Johnny B Goode (by the one and only Chuck Berry)

Thanks for the update @Cleoriff.

I am looking forward to Jonny and Oti's Jive as it's one of my favourite dances. I'm also looking forward to Ruth and Anton and Susan and Kevin's Charleston; again a favourite dance. And I think I know which of the 2 couples will come out on top 😊 And then there's Alexandra and Gorka's Paso, Aston and Janette's Salsa and Mollie and AJ's Tango; really looking forward to these. Like you @Cleoriff I love the latin dances, although the Cha Cha is least favourite.

I'm looking forward to all the dances, of course, but my faves are above. Should be a great show.

Not easy this Strictly game. Apparently, according to this report, Aston dropped Janette whilst trying to do a 'complicated lift' during practice on Wednesday.....http://metro.co.uk/2017/09/28/strictly-come-dancings-janette-manrara-given-medical-attention-after-l...

Yes, indeed. Am particularly looking forward to her salsa with Aston. And hope that lift goes to plan 🙄

I think it's poor Aston who will be more worried. I wonder if they have taken it out?
