Hey everyone,

So it’s Friday the 13th today which has got a bit of a bad rep these days. Around three-quarters of UK adults say they have suffered from bad luck on Friday the 13th and even businesses are not immune to this superstition with hotels skipping room the number 13 and car registrations adding a digit to avoid the number 13.

The origins of 13 being an unlucky number have routes in the bible, Norse mythology and the knights templar.

Personally I’m not terribly superstitious and always seem to have a good day on Friday 13th. Does anyone have any stories of bad luck on Friday 13th? Or is it a regualar day for you too?

Yes it's crazy how quickly a conversation can flow onto a completely different subject.

IT'S strange though how some superstitions stay with you for your entire life. Whether you believe in them or not you never forget them. I purposely make a point of walking under ladders just to disprove my mother, god bless her. Stepping on cracks in the pavement...pffft. ...I laugh at danger LOL

I remember years ago my sister in law was horrified that I was doing laundry on Good Friday. I had never heard of that one before...

@jonsie @Cleoriff Yes walking over 3 drains is one that I'll never forget. There was always someone going on about it a school.

Ahh the magpies were a popular superstition too!

Putting shoes on the table is also bad luck apparently.
