strange sms form nr. 88999

Hi, recently I received a sms text from the number 88999 and it charged me £ 1.25 just for receiving the sms. Can you tell me what is it ?

Possibly a premium rate text, you should be able to get a refund via Phonepay Plus:

You could try replying with "STOP" and forward it to the O2 Spam reporting number which is 7726.
