iPhone 6 - do I or don't I?

Anonymous

I'm thinking of buying an iPhone 6 outright.  I don't want to be tied into a contract for 24 months and don't want to be paying another £30 a month so buying from Apple seems to be sensible.

I currently have a 5S and and I'm trying to work out what I will be gaining if I upgrade to the 6.  I've had a play with the phone and I prefer the size as it's that bit bigger than the 5S (the 6 Plus is way too big for me).  I also like the idea of the bigger memory.

Any thoughts to help me decide one way or the other?

Thanks in advance.

I've compared buying direct from Apple to the price of a Refresh tariff and from Apple a 64gb iPhone 6 is £619 and on Refresh its £720 so quite a bit of difference.

Ouch ~ very much so. 😔

@Anonymous some other factors are that it maybe a brand new handset just released & also the storage capacity

Certainly a large chunk of cash to pay out but possibly as you've seen cheaper in the long run if you are only interested in brand new.

Maybe minus what you get for your previous phone.

Hello @Anonymous

At the end of the day, only you can decide what to do.

Other members can add their opinions, some are pro iOS and some are pro android.

You need to decide what features you need and want when purchasing a new phone.  I went from the iPhone 5s to the iPhone 6.  I found it a smooth transition.  As a tech novice the only main difference that I found was the size.

Good luck with your choice slight_smile

Thanks Gemz. It's interesting to get opinions from other people - that's one of the reasons I like this forum! The size of the phone is one of things I like about it, it's big enough to see a difference but not so big that I can't use it comfortably.

I find that the iPhone 6 is a good size for me.  I have seen the iPhone 6 Plus and in my opinion, it is too big.  Have you see both of them? If not, go to your local Apple, O2 or other phone store and look at them both.  Hold them aswell to get a feel and to see which one you think is easier to use.

Yes, I saw the iPhone 6 Plus as well and it's definitely too big for me. I liked the slightly bigger size of then 6. I'm going to go back at the weekend and have another look and then make the final decision!

It really is down to individual requirements @Anonymous I went for the Note 3 because 1) It is tried and tested and.. 2) Much bigger than my S3. So an increase in screen and keyboard size was important for my eyes and fingers (an age thing you see) LOL

That's a good point Cleoriff! Perhaps I should think about the note for the same reasons!
