You can put your sim in any unlocked or O2 phone.
You can't just leave if your phone breaks.
If under warranty you can send it in for repair but if you broke it it is your responsibility or claim of any insurance.

Be warned, you can "Leave" your contract at any time. But you are still liable for your full minimum term payments
