World News : Ebola: Heathrow to start screening passengers

Headline : Ebola: Heathrow to start screening passengers.

Excerpt from the Link "Heathrow airport is to start screening for Ebola among passengers flying into the UK from countries at risk."

My thoughts :

This is getting rather worrying when it could appear on our own doorstep. Not taking anything away from the people and families that have suffered from this to date.

I think this is all well and good for flighst that are arriving from Africa, and I am assuming thats why these airports are to start screening. But...what about people making connecting flights within the 21-day gestation period?

It is perfectly possibly for someone to leave Sieraa Leone, fly to somewhere like Amsterdam and then a couple of days later fly into Glasgow

Apparently Passport Big Brother knows where you have been wink

When Immigration scan your passport they can see where you have been recently.....not sure how far the data goes back though.

On a much lesser scale...I remember reports saying we had eventually stamped out all MRSA infections....whilst I still had patients and staff being diagnosed with it on a daily basis

Eventually THAT strain was eradicated .....for a while....until the next mutation appeared, and the next... ad infinitum ....as it now appears....:smileysad:
