Welcome to the Word Hunt Diamond - Game 48

The game is open to all members.

Each week, a grid of nine letters in a diamond will be posted.

The aim of the game is to find the target number of words [as in the source used for the game] using only the letters in the grid.

This week`s "diamond" is as follows:

                                                                                   B

                                                                               E       G

                                                                            I       L      M

                                                                               N       R

                                                                                    T

This week`s target is 64 words - using only the letters in the diamond - including one 9-letter word

The rules:

Each word must contain four letters or more and must include the red letter L.

No proper names are allowed.

Scottish words and American spellings are allowed.

Each letter in the grid can only be used once in each word [for example, BELL is not allowed].

Of course, words do not have to start with the red letter L

Only one word per post.

Please wait until someone else has posted before posting again.

I will endeavour to give regular updates on each page [so as to avoid scrolling back] of the words found and the number of words still to be found.

The Word Hunt Diamond game is open to all members.

I hope the Diamond Dogs of Words [thanks @pgn for the term] - those who have played in previous

Word Hunt Diamond games - including

  @Cleoriff  @pgn  @BobM  @TallTrees  @Anonymous  @Bambino  @gmarkj  @MI5

  @jonsie   @madasaf1sh  @Anonymous  @LukasB  @TheresaV  @Marjo

and any member who has not played before, or any new member will join in and play today`s WHD.

Can you, between you, not only find the 64 words in the list [in the source used for this game], but,

as in previous games, also find additional words not in the list ?

Good luck everyone and have fun...

3 hrs 30 mins!!. Blimey @Mi-Amigo yahoo

Mind you, I suppose the time will be dependent on the number of words we need to find, which vary every week?

It might seem that the time to solve the game is dependant on the number of words to find in the list but taking the target number of words in the list, I have calculated the average number of words in the list found per minute in the record and the same for today`s games.

The fastest WHD - 210 minutes to find 72 words = average of approx 3 words found per minute

Today`s WHD       - 245 minutes to find 64 words = average of approx 4 words found per minute

So a smaller target took longer than the record. Using the "average number of words found per minute", today`s game would needed to have been solved in 3 hrs 12 mins [64 words x 3 words per min].

My feeling is that as this a words game, it might become too complicated to refer to a mathematical equation each week [even though I love maths], so I think the mention of the record should read as follows...

  Can the Diamond Dogs of Words beat the WHD game record of 72 words in the list found in 3hrs 30mins?

Pleased I let you do the maths on that @Mi-Amigo rofl

Good to know, although I agree we don't need the mathematical equation every week.

I just enjoy it as it is. yahoo
