Happiness is caring for everyone at Christmas

Birds

Help the birds as it's getting colder by giving them some seeds, small amounts of grated cheese, some raisins are nice, Blackbirds like these ~ and water. They feed here in the morning and late afternoon before they settle down for a sleep.

Bees

Bees are hibernating now sleeping in their ground nests or some are in hives. My bees have all been cleaned and put in a box for Spring. These are the Cocoons cleaned ~ they produced over 700 this year. They are asleep in their silk cocoons, they spun these themselves for a winters sleep.

Fox

This little fox family has been here for years.  A little treat every evening left at the rear of the garden has been enjoyed and she really loves a jam sandwich. Put some food in a posh dish one year and she ran off with it to her den no doubt. Ah well her kitchen must be really pretty!

Deer

Visiting Deer too!  Love my roses in Spring ~ but I don't mind!

Lovely topic @TallTrees and it's such a nice mental image seeing all of these wondeful animals visiting you in your garden. I didn't know that about hedgehogs either so thanks for the interesting info @Cleoriff ! slight_smile

Sadly, I don't have a garden myself as I live in a 1st floor flat, but I can see over my neighbours' gardens from my window. There's always birds perching on the fences, and I've seen cats occasionally sitting there too! I try not to look out there too much though in case my neighbours think I'm staring at them instead of the wildlife. laughing

There are foxes visiting my front garden though sometimes (or rather, the tiny patch of green outside of my door) as people leave their rubbish out for collection on Fridays and the foxes are always interested.

Hello @Marjo

Birds are always around, they are wonderful little friends.

Thank you Marjo for your "arty" input into my topic and

am glad you liked it too.

Great thread @TallTrees! It's easy to forget about wildlife during the winter months so this is a great reminder to spare a thought for them. I have a family of Robins in the garden so I'll be putting some seeds out for them. smiling

If I stick stuff out it’s normally the pigeons that get it.. hideous vermin!!
I need some more ingenious methods of feeding the wildlife.

great thread tho!!
