You sent me a cryptic text about some Twitter SMS Services being stopped and now I am no longer receiving tweets from 'Aurora Borealis Alert' Twitter Feeds that I subscribe to.
How can I get these SMS texts re-instated? I do not have a smartphone, my phone is only capable of calls or texts.
Do I have to move to Vodaphone now to get Twitter SMS Texts?

Yes they do according to this link. It would be best to check first though with Vodaphone CS

What would be the cheapest suitable smartphone that I could run a twitter app on and would it need 3G coverage?
I live in a remote part of NW Scotland without 3G coverage, so the SMS text alerts from twitter on my cheap 15 quid phone with pay-as-you-go sim have been an ideal way to just get alerts of auroras.

You could look online at the O2 shop for cheap phones or even Carphone Warehouse. If you dont get 3G you will be able to pick up 2G without problem (if that is the case now) That at least would get the texts
here is the link for the O2 shop
It would be cheaper probably just to switch to a Vodaphone sim. You would have problems running the app without 3G
