As mentioned in the Advanced Notice on Monday, this week`s White Room Quiz is eight questions

which don`t fit into the normal categories from which the questions are usually selected.

 

There is no QI-style question, where the answer is not what everyone thinks it is.

Q2 [BADGE] Which car company`s badge featured the prow and sail of a Viking longship? 

 

Q3 [CODE] Which country has the International Vehicle Registration code CH for motor vehicles?

 

Q4 [LETTERS] What is the term for the letters of a word which reads the same upside down as the right way up? 

 

Q5 [CARTOON] Which UK comic featured the character Korky the Cat?

 

Q6 [THE SKY] What is the name for the type of clouds which form a "mackeral sky"?  

 

Q7 [SAYING] What are the two missing words from "A bird in the ---- is worth two in the ----"?

 

Q8 [TIME] How many minutes are there is two days ?

 

The White Room Quiz is open to all members of the Community.

 

Those who want to take part must pm [private message] me [Mi-Amigo] with their answers between 12 noon today [Wednesday 20 May] and 23.59 [11.59pm] tomorrow [Thursday 21 May]

- allowing 36 hours to pm your answers.

 

Please do not post your answers on the thread.

 

The answers - and the results for each player taking part - will be posted on Friday morning 22 May.

 

Each member will be awarded star for each correct answer. In addition, each member who gives

Each member must pm [private message] their answers to me [Mi-Amigo] after 12 noon today [Wed 20 May 2020] and before 23.59 [11.59pm] on Thursday 21 May 2020.

No member is to post any answer on the thread.

Any answer received after 23.59 [11.59pm] on Thursday 21 May will be declared void.

No googling, wiki, youtube search for answers.

 

The White Room Quiz is open to all members.

New members, who have recently joined the Community, and members who have not taken part before, are welcome to join the "regulars" with this week`s quiz. 

 

Please feel free to post any comments on the questions - but not the answers - on this thread.

If you have any questions about the quiz, please ask and I will reply here.

slight mis-calculation... you sent me pm with 

 

60 minutes in an hour....

12 hours in a day.... 

520 min in 12 hours...

1040 minutes in 24 hours...

 

should be 720 mins in 12 hours; 1440 mins in 24 hours

so 2880 mins in 48 hours - not 2080

 

sorry...

I spent forever trying to work that out but I had to break it down into manageable figures 60minutes x 6 hours = 360 x 2= 720 x2 =1440 etc..
I find these kind of questions far better than the ones where you either know or don’t .. at least with these kind you stand a tiny chance!

Don't ask me how I failed to read "minutes" and answered (correctly) in seconds... D'oh!
