THE ANSWERS

Q1 HISTORY 1 - Three battles were fought on what is now British soil in 1066. The second was Stamford

Bridge; the third was Hastings. What was the first battle in 1066 ?

A1   Fulford

Q2 NATURE 1 - What type of mammal is a tamaraw, native to the Philippines ?

A2   dwarf buffalo

Q3 WORDS 1 - Ecru is a word for what colour ?

A3    beige/off-white. I`ll accept "linen" as correct answer

A4  I took the question from an online quiz which gave the answer lion and rhino, but after receiving pms

with answers I checked and found a more reliable source gave a list which said over 60% of paintings

were of bears, lions, mammoths, rhinos, horses - so will accept those as correct answers

                             ..... where ?

A5   Sedgemore. Three quizzers gave the answer "Monmouth". Although the Pitchfork Rebellion was also

known as the Monmouth Rebellion, that was named after the Duke of Monmouth but was not

        where the battle took place.
