Today`s White Room Quiz is an "Odd Questions" edition with eight questions with one question on

Each member must pm [private message] their answers to me [Mi-Amigo] after 12 noon today [Wed 06 Jan 2021] and before 23.59 [11.59pm] tomorrow [Thurs 07 Jan 2021].

No member is to post any answer on the thread.

Any answer received after 23.59 [11.59pm] on Thursday 07 Jan 2021 will be declared void.

No googling, wiki, youtube search for answers.

The White Room Quiz is open to all members.

New members, who have recently joined the Community, and members who have not taken part before, are welcome to join the "regulars" with this week`s quiz.

Please feel free to post any comments on the questions - but not the answers - on this thread.

If you have any questions about the quiz, please ask and I will reply here.

That was a smasher quiz, @Mi-Amigo - just the thing for a time when all the seasonal decorations are down and the madness that is normality returns. Thank you.

I didn't do square roots or cubes when I was at school. Had no reason to use them in nursing either

Made me laugh though when I asked my grandson via messenger. Answer given in less than a second I think.. According to him 'he uses them all the time and it's a very powerful maths tool'. I replied 'yes, so's the abacus...

Abacus, you are cruel, @Cleoriff

169 and 196 are the squares of 13 and 14 respectively, something many remember if they are interested in figures. Mental approximation of the cube had me at 7 first-off, as 10 cubed is 1000 and 5 cubed is 125 (5 X 5 X 5), before getting to 6.

Definitely a quiz to dust the cobwebs off the little grey cells, loved it.

I can do the cube thing 6x6x6 but how the hell do you do square root?
