OK - confession time....
I have owned, over the years, a Lada, Skoda (old type), and a Trabant - thankfully not at the same time.
All have been as bad as rumoured, and good for building up one's mechanical skills.
Can anyone top this list of motoring dog toffee

I learned to drive in an old Mini, with the leaks around the front windscreen...
Passed my test in it too - dry that day, as I recall.
Minis these days are HUGE!

As all the comment I've made on this thread have been MY recollections, I asked my husband last night what he thought was the worst car we ever had?
Without hesitation he replied 'the Triumph Stag'!!
He reminded me that we paid £4,500 for it (early 80's) and it was supposed to be the car of our dreams.
It wasn't.
It was a convertible and he reminded me how many times the mechanism failed to put the hood back up and how quickly it began to leak..
Then the head gasket failure (apparently well known on Triumph Stags of this era) Also a timing chain failed. In the end and after 18 months we had to sell it for £1750.
So a bit annoying that it was sold on to a classic car collector who renovated it completely.
Last seen at some convention and according to the owner worth in excess of £45,000!!!
