Hey guys.

In one of my old forums I was a member of (not existing anymore since this year), we had a thread where everybody just told in short what made them happy this day. Thought it would be nice for here too! slight_smile

To start: I'm working for EMS and my first call today was am expected birth. So we hoped we would be able to bring her into hospital just in time. But it didn't work. I was at the patient and she just said "it's coming"... My team-mate was driving REALLY fast, it took him about an kilometer to brake - during that time the baby was just born. Even we were a really young team and not long into job, we did VERY well and even the doctors told us we did excellent.

(Our last call was a reanimation on the street, the woman did not get an own circulation again.... But I guess that's the circle of life :D)

I have no doubt you do have amazing places throughout Germany @ComaChameleon but unfortunately for me the Black Forest is all I got to see the only time I was in your country. Would have loved to go back and visit some more places but never got the chance. And now my health makes travel out of the UK difficult

I used to visit Germany once a year when the gamescom gaming convention was on during August time. This year I can't go but might go next time. It's in Cologne and the city is very pretty!

I've been proactive ... yes, little ol' me LOL = not like me at all slight_smile

I've given my card, with my contact details on (c/o vistaprint) to be given to a very nice lady I sometimes run into in a cafe we both frequent in town ... I initially thought she was a bit posh for me, but no, eg we've been sharing & laughing about the times we were temps ... she is from the South East of England & worked in London = not sure why she chose to come up here to live in Skipton ... we have a lot in common & I just don't have a local female friend to hang about with ... Please wish me luck slight_smile

You need to stop putting yourself down Jane. If she didn't like you she wouldn't want to see you again...

Just be yourself and you will be fine. wink

@Marjo@Glory1

Cologne is the best! grin (One of the Kölsch-Songs says "Cologne, you're a feeling" and that's true!)

Out the plane I saw my new watch (small city suburban of Cologne), my current watch and it's area and my brother's watch (even he was on duty, he didn't respond the waving 😞  xD)

@Glory1

Isn't train an option for you?

@Marjo

Tell me when you're in "my hood" again xD

In Köln, the local beer is clear and golden, in Dusseldorf, further north along the same river, the beer is alt, a dark ale...

So is there any truth in the story that the lighter yellow Kölsch is brewed using Rhine water in Köln, where it is mostly consumed in quantity, and then as the Rhine carries the pee to Dusseldorf, where they make the darker Altbier using Rhine water? Jaw-dropping

I think it is just a story old men tell in pubs to make themselves feel better drinking the light beers in Köln Cheers LOL
