Hey guys.
In one of my old forums I was a member of (not existing anymore since this year), we had a thread where everybody just told in short what made them happy this day. Thought it would be nice for here too!
To start: I'm working for EMS and my first call today was am expected birth. So we hoped we would be able to bring her into hospital just in time. But it didn't work. I was at the patient and she just said "it's coming"... My team-mate was driving REALLY fast, it took him about an kilometer to brake - during that time the baby was just born. Even we were a really young team and not long into job, we did VERY well and even the doctors told us we did excellent.
(Our last call was a reanimation on the street, the woman did not get an own circulation again.... But I guess that's the circle of life :D)

...but, they decided he was under-weight (he eats like a horse) and that he was older than the 7-8 years I gave them.
But it was the same vet that put his age at 6-7 when I got him
Upshot is that they have taken a blood test to check his kidney function
So I've paid for the consultation, the blood test and they shaved some fur off that was matted
Worse though, they haven't given him his annual booster until the blood tests come back
That will be another £42.50
I do have insurance but have had to pay today and try to claim it back
I now have an older, balder and possibly a sicker cat according to them
He's been absolutely fine, healthy and content
Guess I'm paying for their lockdown loss of revenue!
P*ssed off I am!
And this is on the what made you happy thread?

This is why I simply take my cats to the vets for their booster injections. If they are otherwise fine, I never say 'oh this one doesn't like wet food' or 'that one doesn't like going out much'. The vets then start looking for stuff to add to their fees. The classic at our vets when they give them a once over is, 'the teeth look a bit messy, they could do with a clean up'. I fell for that once and ended up with a bill for £400!!
Owners know their own cats best.
I have never hesitated when they need treatment in rushing them to the vets and have spent £1000's over the years. However, all the popping in for a booster and going along with suggestions from the vets has stopped now.
The times the blood results have come back clear, vastly outweighs the ONE occasion with one cat when they did show kidney failure, which is quite common and very little can be done. They can live quite happily for years with that condition.

I applied for a job - they offered a position higher as I (currently) am - and they invited me anyway.
It's the job I waited for since 2 years. But as I'm not the rank they want I'm unsure and nervous. 😞

You lose nothing by going for interview. They wouldn't have invited you if they didn't think you had the skills required. Good luck.

I was way too nervous, so I even shaked all over doing the tasks.
And as I need 2 years experience to be able to apply for the "short" exam to reach the higher position they didn't wanted me.
I can take a full exam (costs more plus more time about 8 weeks) or the short one. And every employer prefers the short one (2 weeks + some days). -.-
But on the other hand I like the new team on the watch. So 24 hour shifts don't seem to be so long.

Never mind @ComaChameleon . Happiness in a job is often worth more than the extra money of a new one.
