And I remember when STD became short for Subscriber Trunk Dialing and not Sexually Transmitted Disease😀

Yep. Parents' first phone was party line. Late 60's I think. Can't remember when it changed but only a couple of years like that.

Yes my parents had a party line on their first landline in the 60's.
