Sorry, just realised the topic is split.
Any particular reason why?
yes, we were having issues indexing.

I am sorry that not having long topics make you feel bad. Sorry, but we had to fix it.

We have been told that there is no need because they only index the last weeks.
@viridis, you know a lot about forums and Lithium, maybe you can help us! Any suggestion | idea...

So we now have 2 Wanty's and 2 Lounges. I sincerely hope that doesn't mean that one of or both of the threads will be deleted altogether. As well as disjointing and breaking up a thread we've had going since before Loathium took over, we will lose hundreds on our post count.

Wantys was a forum institution...Permitted by the manager at the time and an agreement given that it would be a mod free zone. Mods could keep an eye on content and remove any deemed inappropriate but that was it.
Yes it was in excess of 1500 pages but not an issue for anyone. It was great to read back if honest. I never understood it caused a problem at all..

I'm not altogether sure why this needs to be changed in all honesty. What exactly is the indexing issue @MercedesS?

Sorry to see this affects you that much
Nothing has been removed, the same number of post counts... You can find the old discussion about Wanty's New Place here
If you guys have a better solution to fix the problem with the forum search, please let us know

Archive everything without solution from pre 2014 excluding off topic.
Off topic posts that are active should be left, for off topic, archive threads with no replies pre 2014.
That'll clean up the system far more than splitting wantys leaving you with the original wantys that was causing indexing problems.
Assuming the archive is exempt from indexing structure.
A 15,000 reply thread on its own, shouldn't cause any indexing issues on lithium based boards

As I see it it's only off topic threads being split. F1, Cats and Dogs, Virtual lounge and Wanty's.
Yet when we have multiple questions on bill problems we are asked to post them on one thread!!.
Cant wait till the next Apple Launch....I wonder what we will be told to do then? ....1000's of posts all asking the same question ad infinitum...

Thanks @viridis!!!! We have been told that "archiving" means "removing" and the search/index problem is affecting the O2 search too.
However, I can promise you that we will talk to Lithium and O2 to explain your proposal and see if they like the idea of removing/archiving all the topics before 2014, for example, to be able to keep long ones under off topic. And maybe ask what "removing" means for the users: Do you know if they can lose their post or accepted solution count if we remove that many topics?
Thanks again for all the help
