Not chomping at the bit at all @Anonymous. I just posted the article because I found it interesting what could be done.

@Cleoriff is correct. Not only do I already have Fibre To The Home, but it's free (well sort of).

My secondary school was a late adopter of Internet access (the connection was a pair of bonded ISDN channels giving a blistering 128k of capacity!) which was only available in certain rooms and wasn't installed until 1998.

I think they upgraded after about 5 years though,
