Hi Im meeting a friend at Victoria station shortly and suggested we meet at the foodstore near Platform 16-18. Its been there for as long as I can remember BUT I cant recall its name !!
Any commuters are welcome to assist?
.. Any suggestions?? Ive tried various search terms but they are only interested in Victoria Palace Mall

Far better surely to just agree to meet outside the main entrance? Or just inside dependant on atmospheric conditions

Suggestions are welcome but must
be light for lip reading purposes
not far from Victoria - walking
low cost
not sure of my companions taste as we've only met once before, say
pub grub or italian or heathy snack
thanks for all your help

Ive realised this is the first time Ive travelled alone by train for any distance in about 10yrs. The last time was to Manchester for a University research programme.
Since then hubby has always accompanied me. I guess underlying this trip is not anxiety but the knowledge this is different and the first time in ages.
My friend and I can both use smartphone texts if we ''lose'' each other, But phone calls are OUT,
It 'll be all ok and looking forward to a lovely hour or so on a peaceful train. Thanks folks

We had lift off and docking .
Southern rail was running as scheduled. Whistlestop, refurbished, was open. So we docked as planned. No escalator up to Mall so no pizza buffet (bit dark anyway) We climbed the stairs to Weatherspoons, found a seat in a light, quiet corner area. And a pleasant 2 1/2 hours was had. Outside would have bbeen nice but the announcements etc are too noisy for hearing aid users
The only '''system failure'' was announcements by the train guards (or now driver). I could hear perfectly the automated lady. In an emergency. I would not have heard anything the guard was saying. !!
But ive had a taste to travel alone again. And friend is up for it to
