He died on Sunday. He had a wonderful voice but led a very chequered life
"For all the straightforward faultlessness of his romantic singing, Damone led a complicated life, involving tax evasion, gambling debts and links to the mafia. On one occasion, when he broke off his engagement to a mobster’s daughter, he recalled, he was dangled from a hotel window. Not without irony, he titled his autobiography Singing Was the Easy Part (2009)"

I also liked him back in the days when my mum had the radio on in the kitchen all day Sunday whist she ironed and listened to Two Way Family Favourites. He was a regular choice on there. To be totally honest I thought he had died years ago, you do though when the years roll by. But may he RIP now 😕
