UK cable broadband internet speeds 'faster than fibre'

"Internet connections in cable broadband homes are faster on average than those using fibre, Ofcom research suggests.

Average cable speeds were measured at 43.3 megabits per second (Mbps), compared with 42 Mbps for fibre.

This was partly because many cable customers had upgraded to a faster service, the regulator said."

I recently changed to Virginmedia with speeds now at 94mb download and 12mb upload although fibre hasn't reached this neck of the woods yet!

Thats interesting @jonsie  We changed  a few years back from Virgin to BT Infinity and in all honesty have never looked back...

In this house we are usually running 3 laptops and an XBox....the grandson always complained of lagging with Virgin...now we have no such issues...:smileywink:
