I share your fears @jonsie. My only comfort at this moment is that I didn't vote for him, and I'm ashamed of my country and the people who did. He's going to be very bad for the US and as a result, the rest of the world. His tone of protectionism in his speech is very indicative that he intends to throw the rest of the world under the bus. We can only hope that he gets found out quickly for the charlatan he really is and only serves one term.

I agree @jonsie Trump is a joke but not a very funny one. I'm so glad I live here now. I probably would have moved anyway if I still lived in the States. Trouble is I think he's going to be bad news for us here in the UK as well.

I feel for my fellow countrymen.

One of the things I dislike about my former home is how the President is elected because it's not by popular vote but by the electoral college. If it had been by popular vote Hilary Clinton would have won not a man who has nil experience of governing anything never mind a country the size of America.

He played to the fears of a lot of Americans who liked the fact he's not a politician. However, that's not necessarily a good thing in his case. One could have had some hope if he'd chosen some decent advisors. He didn't. So what hope do we have none. And he ain't for the working man, women or people of colour. The various TV programmes recently on him and his family antecedents prove this.

So America is in deep, deep trouble. As for the UK's special relationship.....HELP!
