Tip for keeping your router cool

If like me you keep your router in a cupboard or under the stairs and you've noticed it's running a bit hotter than normal then pick up a cheap USB fan, plug it into one of the USB ports on the router and direct it at the air vents.

You'll be suprised how well it works.

My router lived for years on the floor under my desk just in front of the phone socket as the desk I had at the time didn't have any shelving in and I had printer, screen, a banker's style lamp and a subwoofer on the top along with two satellite speakers (I have a set of Harman/Kardon Soundsticks II speakers I received as a Christmas gift from my folks a number of years ago which are still terrific).

When we decorated the hallway I replaced the desk and thought it a good idea to move the router into one of the cupboards to make things neater.
