As a proud English man I never thought I'd say this but I'm so envious of anyone that holds an Irish passport right now!

If I did (and I had the financial resources I'd probably be looking to relocate over there now.

Theresa May has called on MPs to "put self interest aside" and "work constructively together" to find a way forward for Brexit.

Earlier, the prime minister won a vote of no confidence by 325 to 306, as rebel Tory MPs and the DUP backed her to stay in No 10.

But just 24 hours before, both groups ensured her Brexit plan was voted down.

The PM has met leaders from the SNP, the Lib Dems and Plaid Cymru, but not Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn.

She said: "I am disappointed that the leader of the Labour Party has not so far chosen to take part, but our door remains open."

Mr Corbyn has said that before any "positive discussions" can take place, the prime minister should rule out a no-deal Brexit.

So looks as if Mr Corbyn is determined Labour wont be involved....

But would you though even if you had the finances? Things aren't as rosy as you are led to believe: https://www.numbeo.com/cost-of-living/country_result.jsp?country=Ireland (play around with the cities option) and an interesting read here. Also: Tesco is really more expensive there.

I know where I want to be even though the exchange rate has been hit by 20%. It's been a while since I was a proud Brit. We have such a bad name that I never freely admit to being from the UK. Mind you, some people back home think I'm Russian LOL

I know just how you feel @jonsie. I don't freely admit to being American unless asked a direct question about where I'm from. We're not all that popular in many parts of the world, even here in the UK. And thanks to Trump, any popularity we had has plummeted as he makes the US the laughing stock of the world.

Unfortunately you're right @Cleoriff.

Though I've no doubt Trump will do something stupid and put the US right back on top again rolling_eyes
