Yes....the "do whatever it takes" does usually mean "I don't know what to do yet but I and my CS advisers will think of something eventually"

"Boris Johnson is a liar with his back to the wall, says French FM"
And French politicians are always right aren't they ?
This is the politician who just recently confused Assad and Saddam Hussein

Speaking from his position of absolute safety within the EU.
I tell you what....I hope Boris goes out and stuns them all...Theresa May may be many things but she isn't stupid, She had a reason for putting him in this post. Lets just see how it all pans out. Remember this... Boris could have said no....

Personally I have always liked a BJ (:smileywink:) but not as a prime minister. I think he will surprise many people. Maybe he will get a haircut now....

To be honest people seem to think Boris Johnson as anglo centric never been out of the heart of little britain. However, you have a man born in the US, with French, Turkish and German ancestry educated in Brussels. Oh and his wife has indian heritage, if he hasn't got a broad handle on a world view then no one has.

@Anonymous ........it's the way he's perceived by others.....he looks and acts differently to your run of the mill politician.

I know he is extremely well educated and multi lingual. However he has had a lot of bad press which is eager to show him as a buffoon. As I said earlier, I have no doubt he is more than capable of doing a damn good job....he just has to improve his perceived reputation .....

Yeah, I personally reckon its an act, he was a journalist for GQ, editor of the spectator (in fact I believe it was during his time they had their highest circulation) these are high pressure responsible positions, if you think due to his "bumbling" everyone knows his name, he's viral. In my opinion if this new post "matures" him as a politician he would get a majority vote.
Obviously the inverted commas are all because I think its an act, that said I am a party member and would have voted for Boris if he had stood as leader.
