Is Star Wars better than Star Trek? No.
Before I get flamed, I'll tell you why. I recently made the effort to watch Star Wars in numerical order. First three (the new ones) were surprisingly ok but the original 3...oh dear, how the first one has aged and you certainly notice the acting skills which doesn't improve into RoTJ. Ewoks, now I know why they were merchandising exercise. I'll never watch the original 3 again as I don't want the memory of my youth spoilt by the cynicism of adulthood. I kind of like the latter....Star Trek on the other hand, you have a larger universe where you don't know what the alien of the week is so the characters lead the story.
But then I enjoyed the Star Wars animated series (Clone Wars and Rebels) which explored the universe better as the plotlines and characters developed over a longer timespan. Plus the short epsiode tribute to Saturday morning cinema aka Flash Gordon B&W era, comes through though not many people notice that in all the films....in that respect, Star Wars the animated series on TV is better than Star Trek on film.
BTW, am I the only one who actually likes ST:Enterprise?
There, I think I've alienated both sets of fans in one post

@sheepdog I have to agree. Star Trek > Star Wars. Although it's hard to compare as Star Trek has dozens of seasons and more movies then the Star Wars franchise.
@jonsie Yes they have worked out an entire language over the years!
