He was a favourite of mine too @Anonymous . He left us way to soon.

Yes @jonsie ... if my memory serves me well he had a farm in Wales ... & ... died of a 'hole in the heart' ... = ... maybe something that is fixable these days, I'm not sure ... Nurse @Cleoriff ? maybe you will know?

@Anonymous  Billy Fury (taken much too soon) had a very weak heart due to Rheumatic Fever as a child.

He died of a heafrt attack aged 42. A real tragedy. slight_frown

Golden Earring? That takes me back @pgn . The mad drummer leaped over the drumkit at the end of the gig and almost ended up in the crowd at front of the stage at the gig at Birmingham Town Hall.

On a more serious note, thank you @Anonymous  and @Cleoriff for info about Billy Fury. I did not know about his childhood illness. A sad loss at a young age.

Some people see things as they are and ask "Why?"; I dream of things that never were and ask "Why not?"

thank you @Cleoriff for the info ... very sad to loose him as such an early age ... a very handsome man

Back in the days of my ballroom dancing ... the school had record player in the stage floor ... 'Jealousy' by Billy Fury was a favourite for doing the tango ... as was 'Guitar Tango' by The Shadows mentioned some posts above ... the record player had a sliding speed control lever which was very useful

Who Wants to Live Forever - from a great film, even if a Frenchman plays a Scot...
