Sometimes it can help to just scream it out what's [Removed] you off....

I'll start...

As my "company" (aid relief, but behaving like a company) changed so many things.... Our teamleader was thrown out, is a normal co-worker now... The shiftplans are "planed" centrally now (I can't even say it's planned, that would imply it has a structure, but it's just like throwing [Removed] on a paper). The shiftplan is.... just no. We work our asses off, have plushours galore and the other watch has minushours. So they have freetime enough and we thought about putting containers on the watch to live there, because we don't know why we pay rent for our flats - we're hardly ever there!... And the best shifts are always given to the temporary workers who already have a very good job, so they get the extra amount on money instead of us....

Next week I can finally take my annual leave from LAST year (by law you have to take it by 31th march by exception... I got it excepted even longer. I'm so ready for a holiday!

I had different surgeons when I had my two ops.
The first told me that I had wiped out the cartilage in my knee and partially ruptured my ACL.
Second one (~10 years later) was to replace the ACL as it had fully gone. Not sure how or why but cartilage was fine when they did that one - surgeon number 2 was of the impression they mis-read the first set of images.
Now have a collection of holes and scars across the knee and just under (where they took the new ACL from).
Reason for the second op was considerable pain in the joint, mainly up and down stairs, that was not resolved with a steroid injection in the joint. That was not the most fun or pleasant experience...

Problem is (and excuse me for saying this) it's a man thing.

Most men will suffer far too long with knee problems, usually due to them being very active in sports previously.

They tend to shrug off knee pain, saying it's an old football/rugby injury. Being brave and a tad macho.

Therefore things are left to deteriorate far too long.

If it's only in one knee, they then tend to 'favour' that painful limb and overwork the better leg. Ultimately causing problems in both knees.

Severe pain can be avoided in many cases if action was taken sooner...

(Medical lecture over for today) wink

I will admit that I was guilty of that.
Continued playing on it even though I knew it was damaged.
Got to the point where I had to do something so took myself off to the Drs who advised the damage, then scans and keyhole number 1.
After was advised to take it easy (his actual words were I could carry on playing football if I wanted, but he would see me in 10 years for knee replacement or in a wheelchair. I stopped!).
Haven't played competitively since.

Thank you @Cleoriff

Yes, Mum has a determined nature & she seems to have come to terms with her situation in her home

Yesterday she made us both a cuppa & I carried one through to the lounge Mum carried hers

I've learned a new word this year ... = ... empower ... & ... it's that which we are all trying to do with Mum, helping her to be as independent as possible without being at all 'silly' ... we do things in Mum's house together ... & despite being of light weight & frame she is eating well now smiling

Thing is @gmarkj & @Cleoriff .. what do you do? Your injury will get worse with time regardless.. So give up a passion & get worse.. Or live life, take the inevitable injury on the chin, get a replacement and then get back on it again?

(Sorry @Anonymous not being rude, just missed these replies)

No problem @Anonymous. I wish you well & that you get it all sorted to your satisfaction soonest

My passion was dancing ... however, unable to do that now, but do enjoy Strictly Come Dancing
