Hi all ~ even if you don't care to cook much or even if you do,
thought you would like to see this cooker I bought about 5 years ago from a Chandlers Shop.
This little cooker, cooks everthing you could need ~ bread, cake, stews. It can be used on boats, camping and at home. I use it every week. Would really miss this little treasure.
Can be used on Gas or Electric (not induction) I did not believe that it could do so much. The more I used it the more I was confident. I have cooked bread, cake, stews, baked potatoes to name just a few things.
There isn't a thermostat it is very basic and you get used to the time, normally it is very much like using an ordinary cooker. Something that takes 30 mins usually does but it can be checked on if need be.
Very economical too.
It is made in Sweden.
This is a new one (mine looks used of course!)
This is it in parts ~ heat up bottom part before cooking about 3 mins. Fill the Centre with your ingredients and then put lid on.
This is how it works ~
The heat is well distributed ~ absolutely fascinating to cook with this tiny cooker with a very big range of abilities.

Looks really useful @TallTrees!
I use a slow cooker and a steamer sometimes, but never seen this little guy. Is it a kind of crockpot then? I use this one for my stews and curries when I have no time to wait for the slow-cooker to work its magic, but always on the lookout for more tips and tricks to use in the kitchen

Hi @EmilieT
Thanks for your message.
I was looking for an economical way to cook things other than starting up my
electric cooker oven. I have a gas hob on top. Sometimes it is just not
worth heating up the electric oven to cook a few things (expensive!)
I found this, it actually bakes like my oven. It is cheap because it goes
on to the gas ring.
I like baked potatoes but to put them in the electric oven is expensive. This
is great for that. Put on base heat up for couple mins put 4 large baking pots
in the next ring put lid on and bakes them lovely. You can check when done
by lifting lid and testing them occasionally.
For a quick tasty meal I like frozen Kievs but again to put a couple in the oven expensive.
Heat up base ~ put a couple of Frozen Chicken Kievs in ~ lid on and 35 mins (as it says on packet)
whilst that cooking prepare new pots and veg.
Very economical as I would have needed to heat up my oven.I have done a lot of baking in this it is very economical.
I have used an electric slow cooker many many times and it is wonderful but needs lots of prep etc.
I needed economical and quick to get things done.
I did a lot of research into slow cooking the very economic way after first cooking on heat then for 5hrs with no heat!
It is very interesting ~ how to beat the energy companies!!

This is known as a
Dutch Oven
I use this too on top stove or inside oven does both. Very heavy though but fantastic fuel efficient too.
For extra fuel saving
Put this in the Wonderbag
leave all day ~ Interesting
