You know, I watched Gavin & Stacy in the past and never really understood how it was funny
I'd heard so much hype about it @Cleoriff and the build up to it that I thought I would record it and give it a go
I watched 20 minutes and had enough
I didn't smile once never mind laugh. Deleted 🙄
Reading your post about shipping forecasts @TallTrees I got to the part about the 100 years and thought for a moment that was how long you had been listening to it 😂

Never watched one single episode @jonsie
The reason people watched this final ever show was to see if Smithy accepted Nessa's proposal.(made at the end of the previous show)
Apparently he didn't and was preparing to marry someone else. He backed out on the wedding day and ran after Nessa and all ended 'Happily Ever After' 🙄

Back to the tale of 2 cats (mine) 😂
Last night, knowing what the weather forecast was, the conservatory window was closed.
The two litter trays were filled with fresh litter.
This morning:
1) The whole house was much warmer
2) The cat biscuits and water had been used by OUR two cats only.
3) They both had used the litter trays. 😸😸
What a breakthrough for two 16 year old cats, who last used a litter tray when they were kittens.😂

100 years ...Yeh felt like it though at that time.
I never watched Gavin and Stacey either.
My thought on the BBC allowing different celebs. reading the forecast was:
they were and still are so stuffy that this was unlike them so good get some fun in, sometimes.
There was a time the BBC wouldn't put pop music for teenagers to listen to on a BBC radio station. Teens had to listen to Luxembourg.
Then popped up Radio Caroline (off shore) they were mercilessly threatened arrested and closed down. Then the DJ's eventually ended up with BBC 🙄

When I was a teenager @TallTrees, I was 'in love' with Elvis Presley.
I remember him appearing on US TV and the cameramen were only allowed to film him from the waist up.
Apparently the censors felt his hip wiggling was obscene and was a threat to the innocent young minds of those teenagers who watched him.
Of course, it was all part of his act when singing certain rock songs but not in the eyes of the censors of the 50's and early 60's in the 'Land Of The Free' 🙄
Thinking of your well known story of censorship of music here by BBC radio which resulted in us listening to Radio Luxembourg and then the wonderful pirate radio ships.
They gave most teenagers the music they wanted to listen to.
Thank God for them.

Still talking about DJ's and their influence.
Kenny Everett was the only DJ who would play Queen's Bohemian Rhapsody all the way through.
Kenny worked for Capital Radio and was friends with Freddie Mercury.
As it is 6 minutes long, no other radio show would play it (at first)
Kenny played it 14 times in 2 days.😂😂
Queen certainly owe their popularity to Kenny.

Despite it being available for the first 3 years of their lives, our "new" boys showed no interest in a litter tray, even with the old boy using it religiously @Cleoriff . There seemed no point in having it in the conservatory once he passed and it being ignored, so it is now in the shed in case of emergency.
Although it might make a resurgence once the cat flap goes back on!
There are lots of cats round our way @TallTrees
We have 2.
Next door have 4
There are another 4 that I see regularly down our end of the cul de sac, plus who knows how many roaming the cemetery at the end of the street!
