And the collateral impact on the rest of the world, heating oil prices jumped to almost double in a month - that will be felt in the price of food and transport before long too:

Which probably means panic buying.
My hubby has seen cars queuing at petrol stations already.
WE have to go out this morning and will probably join the queue for petrol!
I think that convey of Russian tanks which have been on the long road leading into the capital of Ukraine have fuel issues as they don't appear to be moving.
In a perfect position to be taken out by Ukraine drone weapons according to a Defence secretary yesterday. They have such weapons but there is a concern that they may have run out of them.

I too have been watching daily as this horror unfolds and feel for those who have lost friends or relatives or are trying to make the exodus from Ukraine to safety to escape Putin`s war-machine.

And what does Britain do?
Give the oligarchs with dealings in the UK 30 days notice to sort their affairs and 'get out'.
Did those in Ukraine, who are fleeing, get 30 days notice?
And believe you me, if a billionaire has 30 days, his coffers will be emptied within 36hours, back to support the Russian war effort...
Speed is of the essence to stop payments and catch them and their assets before they hide.

The DEC - Disasters Emergency Committee - of 15 charities including the British Red Cross is raising funds to help the Ukrainians -
• Providing food, first aid, clean water, shelter support, warm clothing, hygiene parcels and medicines
• Supporting hospitals and healthcare facilities
• Supporting fire fighters and civil protection units
• Training people up in life-saving first aid
• Helping families stay in contact with each other
• Educating people on the risks of explosives
• Repairing vital infrastructure
• Helping to repair homes, healthcare centres, schools and community centres
Liverpool FC are auctioning the shirts worn in last night`s FA Cup match against Norwich, signed by the players, with funds going to the DEC appeal.
Details of the DEC Ukraine Appeal are here

@pgnWow I had no idea of the 30 days notice. The way it was reported it appeared to be an immediate freeze of the oligarchs assets!!
Mind you I shouldn't be surprised, Britain always dithers before making a decision. Same with Pritti Patel and her policy of 'opening doors to Ukrainians but only if they have family here! Bloody shocking when you see how welcoming Poland has been!
Doubt that many from Ukraine would actually want to do the journey to the UK anyway. Most of them just want to return home.
Great to see the news from DEC but I always wonder how they will actually ensure the food and clothes get to those in need.
Just tragic, really tragic 😨

More on that "30 days to leave" ultimatum (!) that has been issued to Russian oligarchs in the UK (this is kleptocracy personified...!):
For comparison:
In France and Germany they are seizing super-yachts. Now go figure just how much various MPs have received in donations from Russian 'benefactors' - here is the Northern Ireland Secretary of State:
That is just one... MP for Gt. Yarmouth, I believe.
Current totals for some others, updated in Lewis' case:
If this is your MP, please email your disgust!
Russian donations to Tory MPs
Brandon Lewis MP £62.5K
Theresa Villiers MP £2K
Gavin Williamson MP £30K
Mark Pritchard MP £5K
Rory Stewart ex MP £10K
Alok Sharma MP £10K
Simon Hart MP £23K
And the list goes on...
It beggars belief.

Speechless, just speechless. What a mockery. Crying and weeping for the dead and dying in Ukraine and using the words 'war crimes.....whilst allowing Russian Banks 30 days for clients to move their money into offshore accounts so they can continue being paid from perpetrators of war crimes.
I am so enraged, it makes me feel sick.
Every day we are watching and allowing the destruction of a country by some lunatic who thinks 'this country and it's citizens deserve a lesson'. 😭
