I was in my local yesterday and after starting with my usual ... = ... a pot of tea, followed by pineapple juice with soda water and ice in a large gin glass

I decided to try a small Zinfandel with a glass of lemonade and ice on the side ... poured half glass of lemonade and ice into wine and what a refreshing drink it was ... the price wass less than a cocktail in Happy Hour

Sooo Wispa has found herself a grown ups drink she can drink without face flushing, headache and throwing up!

Out of all the wines available, I prefer Zinfandel @Anonymous It's slightly sweeter, particularly with lemonade. I drink it a lot.

I know @Cairdeas  is also a fan, though probably without the lemonade. Lol

What you describe, @Anonymous, is common in the heat of a German summer, the Weinschorler: wine (white, rose or red) in a large balloon glass, with a similar volume of cold Sprudelwasser, sparkling mineral water - a nice lunchtime tipple that replenishes water and gives a little tingle to help you through to gin o'clock 🥂😁

White wine spritz is what it was called in the pub I worked in. Some had lemonade, some with fizzy water and one person had it with tonic!

All this talk of food and drink and guess what ?

My blumming freezer decided to pack up over night. Luckily it just stopped working and no puddles of water. Tried turning on and off, fan not kicking in... It is very old. Fortunately managed to salvage the little food in it.

So I`ve ordered a new one which is going to be delivered tomorrow, installed, and the old one removed and recycled...
