Excerpt from the ~ Link "Apple's iCloud facility, which stores iPhone and iPad users' photos and personal data, has a "fundamental security flaw", an expert has warned."

"It has emerged that a security measure called two-step verification, which is recommended by Apple, can be bypassed using easily available software that allows access to iCloud back-ups.

Apple declined to comment.

The program still requires hackers to know the user's email address and password, and there is no clear evidence that it was used in the recent breaches."

My Thoughts :

Apple need to release some form of statement about this , never mind refusing to comment.

Sorry I was just making sure Cleoriff knew I was responding to her.

The iCloud back up is one file stored in the server so when you initiate a back up download all the info streams to the iPhone.

I believe you can at iPhone level turn off the photo stream upload of the pictures to iCloud so it's just settings and other saved data in there.

Oh right.... so you can'y say go and retrieve one specific photo saved on there?

As far as I remember icloud only stores the last 30 days of photos and setting files

Until now, I didnt realise that so many celebrities took rude photos of themselves and partners on their phones.

What are the chances? (I realise some of the nudie photos were mocked up)

You can log into the iCloud online using your Apple ID and view content. Such as your contacts and calendar info.

Apologies I am trying to follow this and am wondering if this is related to the issue my son had with his iPhone some months back?

It crashed and he managed to retrieve some of his photos 'from the cloud' but others were lost forever?

I did speak to @MI5 about this..so he will know what I am trying to understand?...

I did't realise that - I thought it backed everything up and kept it like Dropbox does.....
