Headline : Apple iCloud security exploit is a concern, experts say.

Excerpt from the ~ Link "Apple's iCloud facility, which stores iPhone and iPad users' photos and personal data, has a "fundamental security flaw", an expert has warned."

"It has emerged that a security measure called two-step verification, which is recommended by Apple, can be bypassed using easily available software that allows access to iCloud back-ups.

Apple declined to comment.

The program still requires hackers to know the user's email address and password, and there is no clear evidence that it was used in the recent breaches."

My Thoughts :

Apple need to release some form of statement about this , never mind refusing to comment.

@Anonymous. Is this in any way linked to the release of those celebrity pictures that has been all over the news recently?

Genuine question this... (being away I only hear/read bits and pieces of news)....

Kind of.

It's helped to highlight that the 2 step verification may have a weakness.

Ok thanks both..

This seems a very 'inconsiderate' time for stuff like this to be hitting the news.....just before the release of the iPhone 6?

Just an observation you understand......

Apples cloud was hacked earlier in the year and made world headline news (doesn't everything Apple related) !!
So it's nothing new except that Apple try and keep it all hush, hush.....

iCloud typically holds settings and pictures stay there for a limited time.

I live and learn.....

Though it appears that those camping out (as shown in bambino's 'Idiocy' thread) certainly have no issue with it....Horrified

We all know what iCloud is but I can't figure out what you are trying to say.....?

That if someone hacks iCloud they typically get settings info and any pics that's within the limited time period they are stored.

Nothing overly harmful unless you obviously take dodgy pictures.
