It's that time of year again folks.

From Monday August 13th they will start revealing the candidates for this years show. I understand the first one will be on that nights episode of the One Show.

Many names being bandied about and people are even putting bets on them? (A bit stupid when there's been nothing official yet)

Anyway names in the mix so far

Cheryl Cole (can't see that happening)

Ashley Roberts  (former Pussycat Doll)

Lee Ryan (from Blue)

Faye Tozer (from Steps)

Les Dennis

Tom Daley

Steph Mc Govern BBC Newscaster.

Dan Walker (Sports Presenter)

Colleen Rooney (can't see that as they have just upped sticks and moved to the US for Waynes football career)

Michelle Keegan (Corrie and Our Girl)

Mark Labbett (The Beast) from The Chase.

Kate Silverstone (BBC Newsreader)

That's all I've got so far and probably half of them are wrong but hey...joy

What is certain , the judging panel and the presenters remain the same.

Also the guy who will replace the lovely Brendon Cole is Neil Jones. He has been on the show as a back up dancer and is married to last years winning professional Katya Jones

Can't say the name or face mean anything to me @sheepdog. Another 'celebrity' to appeal to the younger set. But can she dance?

All will be revealed by week 3....

Stacey Dooley is an award winning investigative reporter @Glory1

Does a lot of work for the BBC and was awarded an MBE this year...

"Former airport worker Stacey first broke into the public domain fronting documentary Blood, Sweat and T-Shirts in 2008, uncovering the reality of child exploitation in Indian sweatshops. From there, she became a BBC Three regular, going on to lead several of her own Stacey Dooley Investigates programmes".

Ah, now I do remember the documentary Blood, Sweat and T-shirts. As I recall it was very upsetting and made me think twice as to where I bought my T-shirts. Just didn't remember her name, but then I'm so very bad on names.

Thanks for the info @Cleoriff at least now I know who she is and can relate to her name and what she's done that I've actually seen.

Stacey Dooley does great documentaries from many dangerous places and does indepth interviews with government representatives in countries notorious for drug production, countries where child sex is commonplace, where people smuggling is rife and from countries where young girls are raped and women are stoned to death. I enjoy these BBC documentaries and the fact that she is young, blonde or brunette, good looking and dreamworthy is irrelevant wink

She started out appearing in Luton Airport where she worked when they filmed the series.

The 9th contestant to be announced is Ashley Roberts (formally of the Pussycat Dolls)

I'm sure she will get some stick from those who shout 'she has had plenty of dance experience'

Never mind, I will look forward to seeing how she performs in Strictly...

I like The Pussycat Dolls' music. Her 'dance experience' is related to their songs and is not ballroom or Latin. Totally different type of dancing. More what you would see in a club. So, yes, let's see how she does on Strictly.

Most definitely they could sing @Cleoriff.

The last time I was in hospital I bought a CD of their's for £1 from one of the stands that used to be set up on the ground floor. It was probably the best £1 I'd ever spent. Fantastic music and what singing voices they have as a group and individually. Though I admit Nicole Scherzinger's voice is my favourite, so powerful.
