It's that time of year again folks.
From Monday August 13th they will start revealing the candidates for this years show. I understand the first one will be on that nights episode of the One Show.
Many names being bandied about and people are even putting bets on them? (A bit stupid when there's been nothing official yet)
Anyway names in the mix so far
Cheryl Cole (can't see that happening)
Ashley Roberts (former Pussycat Doll)
Lee Ryan (from Blue)
Faye Tozer (from Steps)
Les Dennis
Tom Daley
Steph Mc Govern BBC Newscaster.
Dan Walker (Sports Presenter)
Colleen Rooney (can't see that as they have just upped sticks and moved to the US for Waynes football career)
Michelle Keegan (Corrie and Our Girl)
Mark Labbett (The Beast) from The Chase.
Kate Silverstone (BBC Newsreader)
That's all I've got so far and probably half of them are wrong but hey...
What is certain , the judging panel and the presenters remain the same.
Also the guy who will replace the lovely Brendon Cole is Neil Jones. He has been on the show as a back up dancer and is married to last years winning professional Katya Jones

Anyone else watching SCD's Christmas special?

Right, no problem.
My top 3 are Aston Merrygold, Caroline Flack and Jake Wood; in that order.
Anne, of course, was the comic relief with Anton. Trust me to forget the names of the other 2 celebrities. Too much wine, no doubt. Back in a mo.

Sorry 'bout that, had to stop for a mince pie and cream with a lovely glass of Port.
Right, back to Strictly.
The dances:
Anita and Neil Jones danced a foxtrot. Adequate but didn't knock my socks off. I've seen far better and far worse. Scored 26/7?
Aston and Janette danced a jive and he was amazing; tricks and flicks superb. Bruno said the best jive on a Christmas Strictly, and I agree. Scored 40.
Anne with Anton no surprise they were the comic relief as the ugly sisters from Cinderella. As you can imagine it was awful and Anne as previously didn't actually dance. Scored 22, bottom of the Leaderboard.
Caroline and Gorka did a brilliant charleston. Caroline lost none of her dance skill. Scored 40, joint top of the Leaderboard.
Michael and Nadia Byshkova danced a Viennese waltz. Unfortunately Michael lost his timings. Might have been decent otherwise. Scored 30.
Jake and Luba Mushtuk danced a cha cha cha. And Jake lost none of his snake hips. Fantastic as always. Scored 39.
I kept my fingers crossed for Aston as it was clearly between him and Caroline with the 2 best dances of the night and joint top of the Leaderboard. I thought he deserved it after leaving too soon in the series and Caroline had already won a Glitter Ball. And I'm very pleased to say Aston won
There was a lovely group dance featuring all the celebs and the judges.
The entertainment was a choir singing Silent Night. The singing was lovely but I didn't like their arrangement. Prefer the traditional arrangement: it's one of my favourite carols.
Good Christmas show as always and I'm over the moon with the winner.
Now on to Call the Midwife Christmas special 😊

Kind of half watched it along with Potato Peeling on Facetime. I'd have to say the consistency in marking was far better on the peeled potatoes than the Strictly Judges.

SCD sounds great, I will look forward to seeing it.
I have to download Call the Midwife as I'm watching the two ITV soaps, recording The Greatest Showman and then onto the film biopic of Torville and Dean. (been waiting for this one for ages)

Yes Torville and Dean are next on the list after Call the Midwife and like you @Cleoriff I've been rather looking forward to it too. I also wonder what T&D will make of it and how accurate they'll think it is.
