It's that time of year again....Some love it and others hate it.... Dance

However, BBC have announced the first 'celebrity' to join the line up for Strictly Come Dancing 2017.

It's Mollie King from the girl band The Saturdays (Frankie Bridge from the same group appeared in 2014)

Thought you'd like to know @sheepdog that in the article by Marianka Swain posted by @Cleoriff, she refers to Tessbot as well. Obviously it's catchy. Probably because it suits her so well. And Cloudier is superb. I just won't see either of them by their given names again. Have told many of my friends as well and they all loved the names. Didn't realise till now how most of my friends find them extremely irritating and, according to them, the most useless presenters of either sex they've ever seen.

Jay and Aliona's jive from Pulp Fiction is pure magic @Cleoriff so if you're biassed then so am I. I could watch their video every day of the week it's just so good. Nothing in Musical Week has matched it, yet.

Incidentally the SCD Christmas special was filmed last night. A real furore when a couple of the Daily red top papers got hold of the results and they were leaked. The BBC are furious

I know the results but obviously wont post. However, I will say this..if the Beeb dont want the results leaked then they should record the show live.

Let's face it...every person on the planet surely knows the SCD 'Sunday' show is actually recorded on the Saturday? Thats why we only have 40 minutes to vote.......

Actually Tessbot came from Newzoids (and it was the first time I saw it so stuck with me):

Thanks for the vids @sheepdog. I never watched Newzoids so missed these. Very very good and dare I say true-to-life. That big big insincere smile almost cracking Tessbot's face and Cloudier with her mass of unrestrained hair. Perfect.

I agree with you @Cleoriff that the BBC should record the SCD Sunday show live. The Christmas special, everyone knows that's taped even if, by some miracle, there are some people that still don't know the Sunday show is taped Saturday.

However, I do blame the red tops for leaking the results. I don't read a paper very often and never a red top. Don't like them, don't respect them and this sort of game doesn't endear me to them. So they knew the results, did they have to leak them. They'd say it's news, I'd say it's a calculated attempt to sell papers nothing more. I know that's their business but I just find this sort of leak despicable and it's one of the reasons I don't read them.

We will have to agree to disagree on the leaks @Glory1 It was actually released on Twitter first and picked up by the Star and Sun. I read neither, nor do I use twitter....but millions do. So I reiterate, it should be Twitter who are open to criticism not the papers who picked it up. I read all this on a SCD site who actually showed the tweets.

The offenders, if any, are those who record shows and expect the results to be kept secret.

God knows I get flak when I post results of F1 races before people have had chance to watch the recording...(At least I post when the race is live though and the result is no secret)

No.... If SCD wants to pretend the programme is live.. then they take the public for fools. If they want the Christmas special to be secret... either record it live...or do it in a closed studio with no audience.

By golly I feel better for that rant...LOL

As I don't tweet @Cleoriff I didn't know the results were first shown on Twitter. Your original post didn't mention this. So my apologies to the Red Tops, though my opinion of them remains.

I totally agree with you that the BBC should record live shows live or, if not, make it clear from the getgo that the show is taped. However, I can't see the BBC doing a live recording on Christmas day unless they're prepared to pay dearly for it and then there would be people complaining about how the BBC is wasting the public's money.

I think the BBC should be honest about the 'live' Sunday show which pretty much everyone knows anyway is taped.

As for the Christmas special, I find it hard to believe there is anyone that actually thinks it's live. And I've seen celebrities who've appeared in the Christmas SCD actually say when they taped the show on national television well before the Christmas show aired.

Tape the show in a closed studio with no audience. Yep that would certainly keep the results secret, if at the same time kill the atmosphere of the show.

So my answer the BBC should stop pretending the Sunday show is live during the regular season. What they do about keeping the Christmas day show results secret which, as I say, most people know is taped I've no b****y idea 🤔

Oh and I'm very pleased you feel better after your rant, though sorry to be the cause of it Bang

No you weren't the cause of it @Glory1 My fault for omitting to mention the tweets. It was those I first saw but it was the two papers who published it.

I'm not sure how they could do the Christmas show unless the audience was there for the dancing...then 'shoved into a hole' for the results part joy....

Funny thing is, this might not be the audience. I seem to remember Ruth and A.N.Other tweeting how they were still so happy to be there.....on the Saturday night before the results were announced on Sunday. When you think of the whole production team it could be any of them playing 'mole'...

We can all criticise the other reality shows but at least they are 'live'. I honestly think it's purely for viewing figures with SCD.

Anyway now we have 'put the world to rights' I am away to bed.....so goodnight all xx

I now have a picture of the audience disappearing into a big hole at the end of the dancing. Oh Denise this I would pay to see....LOL
