This is episode 7 so follows on from the ones in the 70s and 80s. Not the prequel from the 2000's
Kylo ren is the baddie but not a sith as they ended with the emperor in return of the Jedi, so he also is not a Darth (name given to sith Lords)
He is from the Knights of Ren and is pure dark side force....
That's all we know..
