This is one of my favourite Summer Songs. It's from 1966!

So this lazy-day masterpiece, recorded mere days before Redding’s death in a plane crash, doesn’t specifically single out that it takes place during summertime. But just try to listen to the lapping waves, Redding’s whistling and singing about clearing your mind, and that lovely sonic tranquillity throughout, without conjuring your most relaxing summer vacation.

Such a joyful topic @Mi-Amigo! I'm loving it. Of all the songs that have been shared so far, I've gotta say the Kinks one and (Sittin' On) The Dock Of The Bay are my favourites. Beautiful description of the Otis Redding classic @Cleoriff.

My first contribution to the thread has to be the very first song that pops in my head whenever I think about summer and music:

Gonna be a bit cheeky and add another one here that sprung from the back of my mind, this time a mellow lazy-day atmospheric relaxing tune, to tag along @Cleoriff's choice above with Otis' song.

After all, summer is about relaxing as much it is about partying in my opinion. Nothing like lying on the grass at a park or basking in the sun at the beach listening to some sweet music.

Love all these! It's always a good idea to refresh the playlist with some good vibes. 

This one hasn't come to mind for years. Reminds me of a good summer bonfire with my brothers.
