It's a problem with the app they've developed, @Cleoriff. Only works with Android phones at present.

It is far easier for organisations to devop Apps that run on Andropid due to their open policy to app development. apple as we all are aware does not have such open arrangements so organisations tend to develop for Android in the first instance.

To be fair, it's a new development, and there's still a few weeks to go before they start trialling the scheme (which according to that report doesn't go live until the autumn). We're talking about the safe handling of quite sensitive data, so it's important that they get it right first time. Hopefully, by the time that the scheme officially launches, we'll have a trustworthy and fully functioning app in both Android and iOS.

Let's hope you're right @Anonymous. I'm not a fan of Apple and don't trust their technology.

I hope it all works on android and IOS by the time it goes live. As you say the safe handling of sensitive data is paramount. Not sure how I feel about that nor how much I trust the security protocols that will surely be in place. Read too many stories about data breaches to be totally confident. But maybe it's just me being paranoid.

Very glad this doesn't affect me.

Not paranoid at all @Glory1 I have no doubt that anyone at all remotely interested in my personal data can easily access it given the data and security breaches nowadays.
