Hello ..Appreciate your "advice various" technical included but most of all your experience.

I have a Samsung A34 mobile used for most things.  I have recently joined Borrowbox and enjoy reading magazines, newspapers and books.  Using my phone is making me cross-eyed (PC not suitable as I like to sit and scroll etc)  I have looked through quite a few Tablet information and prices .. don't want it too expensive, have plenty of tech. Argos are selling this tab for £179.00 for the 256GB version 11inch screen. It has a sim slot for phone and a slot for a microSD Memory card. It's Android 16 OS.

Anything better than this for me?

Seems like good value for money

No information on warranty

Can it receive phone calls, emails texts etc ?

Says it can with a sim

Can I put my O2 sim in it? .. not desperate for this feature.

It doesn't come with a charger  (C slot for one though)

Can I use my Samsung phone charger It's a fast charger (so it says)

Thank you appreciate your advices 🤗 TallTrees

Let us know

If it does have a working SIM slot then it's ridiculously cheap

This is not O2 and we are all customers here similar to yourself and cannot answer account type queries.

It does look like a good deal @Cleoriff

Like Samsung too.  It has everything I need.

I set up borrowbox lots to read, ebooks,  eaudio, epress.  Then set up BBC  sounds.  Use Bluetooth to my radio for audio.

Needed a bigger screen to read,  not my PC which is too big and awkward.

So tablet is ideal. .. using Wi-Fi.  This model was just launched November 2025.

I will enjoy reading magazines and books.  Then can just listen sometimes with audio books etc. rest eyes.

Bye Cleo

I've had a number of  tablets @TallTrees

Last one a Sony which was brilliant and did have a sim slot.

However I handed it over to my other half to play games on.

I much prefer my PC with a large screen

I also prefer new books. I have a kindle but never use it. Just the smell of a new book makes me feel great

(I should have been a Librarian)

I hand over the books to charity shops or a market trader I know who pays me a small sum for them (or exchanges for other books.)

My neighbour had a book shop, retired now.  She reads one book a week still manages to go out, entertain the enormous amount of friends she has and walks dog twice a day 😖

Books books and more books, she recommends books gives me one or more actually very good choices for me. This one is The Women by Kristin Hannah she said "you'll like this" ..  I have had it for a while but recently lots of things to do, so can't settle to read at moment.   Anyway it's on eaudio so can listen to it, as well.  She lent me a book a few months ago I couldn't put it down, really enjoyed it.

We are so lucky to have our little library only 5 minutes walk away, nestled amongst the trees.  Volunteers not only run the Library but do the gardening too. Put flowers in tubs outside and put a lovely bench to sit on in the garden.

They also provide books to you at home if you can't get out through the Royal Voluntary Service, was WRVS but men help too so dropped the W .. rightly so. Children love it go in straight from school 😊

Our Library in the trees 🌳 😍

It was lucky to have a private donation to carryout repairs, renew roof and update windows. It's small and cosy with lots of books on movable type shelving, holding a huge amount of books to choose from.

It has a small computer corner and a children's area with small table chairs, some toys and really lovely books.

It would probably suit you there cleo. Everyone is local so sit and chat talk about books 📚 since it's update new flooring chairs etc. very smart.  Got an automated borrow and return machine so quick and efficient.
