Hi !

 

Royal Mail have produced their Christmas Stamps for this year ~ I thought they were quite pretty.

No, because they say first class and second class they are still valid at any time no matter how much you pay. For the higher parcel postage you can just buy the equivalent small cost stamps to make it up to the new price. I think they still do 5p and 10p stamps to add.

Yes that is the one good thing about stamps in the UK. As they have 1st and 2nd class on them you could have bought them years ago and they are still usable (Makes me wonder why I didn't stockpile in the 80's) rolling_eyes

This could be the reason ~

Yes this is a stamp I have from 1986!  found in a drawer.

However, it does have a value printed on it.

REMEMBER THOSE DAYS?   Lot of water under bridge since then.

17p and we thought it expensive back in 1986!

Still usable though with a few additional stamps.

Yes still usable ~ I had quite a few old stamps.  Asked Post Office if could be used ~ yes at the face value. 

Great Pity it wasn't a Penny Black  ~
