Re-Make of RoBoCop in the pipeline.

I remember when the original film was released in 1987 and enjoyed it.

The sequels and Tv Mini-Series spin offs were not so good !

Now a re-make is in the pipeline so lets see if this one one of those remakes that lives up to the original.

Anyone else have an example of a good movie / Tv Show spolied by a re-make ?

Imbd Link for RoboCop 2014.

Looking at the trailer and cast, it looks like a pretty worthy remake and looking to me like its in the reboot style of Superman.

Though I tend to find bad remakes are usually of foreign films into hollywood ones.

The original was an 80s classic IMO, shame the 2 sequels sucked.

Changing the actor didn't help either.

Peter Weller played the part well.

I'm excited to see what they do with it, I just hope that it tries to be something more than simply an action movie.

I hope its not a 12A either!

Don't worry, they'd be silly to make it any less than at least a 15 IMO.

Yes Lets hope it's at least a 15 rating.

On a lighter note,

Just finished watching 'We're the Millers'

Very very funny.

As for remakes of TV shows, I gather they tried to do a US version of Fawlty Towers, and apparently even the Yanks said it was rubbish.

Not the same with John Cleese and co IMO, I have both of the original series of Fawlty Towers on DVD, one of the funniest things ever.

Defiantly a classic tv series Richard.

The scene where he thrashes his car with a tree branch.

And the episode where he had Germans staying in the Hotel , and not to mention the War.

Hilarious.

Indeed, the US version failed because with due respect to our US cousins, they just don't get British humour.
