Larry Lloyd was half of two of the most uncompromising central defensive partnerships in British football. At Liverpool, his partner in defence was Tommy Smith ; then at Nottingham Forest, he was paired with Kenny Burns. I can only readily think of Jack Charlton and Norman Hunter at Leeds United as a match for Lloyd's pairings.
The BBC report does not mention it but latterly Larry Lloyd spent time as a summariser and commentator for local radio.
