We haven't heard all the details yet but I find this absolutely shocking. Maybe many of you didn't know this guy but he was a very talented footballer in the 90s. Thoughts are with his family.

Dalian Atkinson is best remembered for his time with Aston Villa

Former footballer Dalian Atkinson has died after being shot with a Taser by police in Shropshire.

West Mercia Police said officers responded to a report of concern for the safety of a man at about 01:30 BST in the Trench area of Telford.

A Taser was used on the 48-year-old man and after receiving medical help, he was pronounced dead at about 03:00.

During a 16-year career, the striker played for Aston Villa, Ipswich Town and Sheffield Wednesday.

Yes it's been all over Midlands news today.....but not sure of the circumstances leading up to the tasering?

It must have been serious for the 'riot police' to be in attendance.

I would suspect he had some underlying medical condition for the taser to contribute to his death?

However, extremely sad news. Thoughts are with his family...

I remember when this guy played for Villa. Tragic circumstances & hope more information is released.
