Sir Roger went on to become a well respected Consultant in Neurology and did some marvellous work in that profession.

Never knew that. I’d always assumed he carried on doing athletics until he retired

Thank you for letting us know that @Cleoriff ... I clearly remember him doing the 1st mile in under 4 minutes on the tv ... black & white then

I never watched athletics back then....I was only 4 ☺Not even sure we had a tv 😔

However, not to take anything away from the man, it's yet another sad loss. RIP 😕
